When I wake my computer up from hibernation, it always takes about 15
seconds for the network to start functioning. This might be DHCP at
work, I don't know. Nevertheless, you can't check E-mail until you are
online. Maybe that's your issue.

Once you start actively using email, then there is no problem with
performance. However, it's that slow start that concerns me. It has
to be something about the way the server sets up the connection, and
how quickly it responds. Any thoughts on this?
