It's up to you. Rod's certainly correct in that the lookup is unnecessary. Personally, I prefer the explicit MX designation, as it is often the primary sender. It also gives you the flexibility to change IPs without changing the SPF record, though if you cover your entire address space in the SPF record, and update it when changes to your available address space occur, it is unnecessary.
