I would like to add that the IE admin kit, is quite good... easy to use and
so on....
Can even throw your own logo's in there and so on...
We use it on our intranet, and it works great, even for the people who are
afraid of a computer.
We had a similar issue... all systems, with no CD Roms, and no internet
access. Now everyone is up to date, and everyone had done the install them
selves, with little to no help from out IT Department.

Might I recommend the IE Administrator's Kit. It's free from MS, and will
allow you to create a downloadable version you can deploy to your intranet,
creating a single-click upgrade (or even a forced upgrade via re-direct upon
detection of version 3 browser.) You can even customize the version to
reflect your needs, and create a completely transparent install for your
users. They would just get a message to "Wait while we upgrade your
browser" message. I believe it'll even reboot itself when it needs to, so
they can go on a coffee break while it's working.
It's really that easy, and shouldn't be a big problem to roll out.
Again, I agree that Ipswitch needs to fix their Docs or even provide working
templates until they do. I think it was just a documentation oversite when
they went from version 4 to 5 and 6. I believe their version 4 templates
did work with version 3 browsers, but they were internal to IMail, and not
customizable. The new ones are much nicer.
If you want, we can continue this off-list.

I can.
I have 300+ users, in 32 branches accross Canada on an Intranet, with no
Internet access. I could burn 32 copies of IE4.0 and have them install the
software, but most of my clients are computer illiterate, not to mention
that none of our systems have CDRom's I would have to map a drive to the
server CDROM. I would have to do it myself. Not an easy task. The way I see
it since IPSwitch claims to require IE3+ then they are responsible for
ensuring that this is possible.
