Hi All:           I've the same problem. I'm running Imail 5.08 and I have only 6 domains with about 400 users. All of them are using smtp auth with Outlook 2000. I must restart the service every 30 minutes to keep my imail server running. I have this problem since 2 weeks ago. I've the same scenario from december '99 and I didn't installed anything on the server and I dont understand anything.   David.    -----Mensaje original----- De: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]En nombre de Ron Schaefer Enviado el: jueves 25 de mayo de 2000 18:27 Para: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Asunto: [IMail Forum] 6.03 SMTP AUTH Errors Problem: Clients using Outlook or Outlook express with SMTP Authentication are occasionally not being authenticated properly.  When they attempt to send mail they will be prompted for user name and password.  Clicking OK (without changing the username or password) anywhere from  4 to 10 times will normally send the mail.  Occasionally I need to stop and restart the SMTP service.  The problem is very erratic, it may work fine for 30 minutes and then fail every 2 to 5 minutes.   There have been no changes to the server sw or config or IMail config and no major increase in users or traffic.  Although the problem seems to happen more often during heavy traffic periods.   IPSWITCH "Solution": I have spoken with Tanya at IPSWITCH support extensively yesterday and today.  She has been able to recreate the problem by setting up a user on my server and attempting to send mail using SMTP AUTH.  Even so she has supplied no help except that it MAY BE A LIMITATION OF IMAIL with the number of users that can authenticate at one time and she has suggested to open my server up to relay mail for all users.  This is not a good solution since that would open me to spammers and it would be near impossible to contact all of my users to have them turn off SMTP AUTH.  I also believe this could not be the problem since I only have 60 domains with an average of 5 users each, which is well below what IPSWITCH claims the product to handle and the traffic or users did not increase at the time this started happening.   History: Currently running 6.03 with the latest patches.  Was running 5.08 when the problem started on Tuesday and installed the upgrade that night with no improvement.  This server has been running IMAIL for over three years with no problems.  %.08 has been installed since around December.   Running 60 domains, with unique i/p's with approximately 350 total users.
