You have to look at the files!
Whenever you have a lot of files (BTW, anyone know if IMonitor can check for 'more
than X files in the spool directory?', I was just thinking about this an hour ago--
would notify you of mail loops, DNS resolving problems, and spam), you need to look at
the files. They will give you the answer.
For example, if you open a couple, and they are porno messages, there is a good chance
that a porno web site is using your mail server to spam other systems. If all of
files are addressed to the same domain, there is probably a DNS issue or other problem
specific to that domain.
If you have 1,000's of files waiting to be sent, either the files themselves will be a
dead giveaway as to the problem, or you have a big problem (IE DNS servers down).
