Dave,

Try using >  mail.domain1.com:8383 this will do it.
I use it for 79 domains on the server.

Subject: [IMail Forum] eval version problem
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hello all,

I am a new (ab)user of IMail, and I have a problem that some of you might
have encountered before.

I am setting up IMail on server, and it is the idea that it hosts several
domains.
first the set up of my machine:

one WAN ip address
sonicwall firewall
NTserver with multiple LAN IP addresses (192.168.168.200, 192.168.168.199
etc)

I have four domains with the appropriate DNS entries, lets say domain1.com,
with MX domain1.com, domain2.com with MX domain2.com.

I have installed IMail, and added the additional hosts. I have put
domain1.com on local ip 192.168.168.200, and domain2.com on 192.168.168.199.

the firewall is configured to lett traffic through for all these local ip's

I have also set the top directory to the appropriate domain name, I have
copied the web folder into \IMail\domain1\web and the same for domain2.

now here is the problem:

If I log on to www.domain1.com:8383 I get the login.html showing that this
mail server is domain1.com which is fine, but if I log on to
www.domain2.com:8383 I am told that this mailserver is domain1.com also.

for some reason, when logging on to domain2 (or 3 or 4 for that matter) it
always seems to default to the \IMail\domain1\web directory

can anyone tell me what is going on?

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

Len,

I have followed the instructions/remarks in the KB article you quoted, and
also the instructions in the manual. that is the problem. For some reason
unknown to me the web based mail keeps defaulting to the domain1 web
directory.

I have modified the loging.html in domain1/web and domain2/web to show which
directory I am in, but I keep getting the login page for domain1, and never
for domain2

Dave,

If you have given IP numbers to the other domains, and set up your DNS
correctly, their login page *should* come up first; that's the way it
works.

The only thing I can think to recommend is for you to check your primary
web directory path (Imail Admin | localhost | Web Messaging Service) to
make sure it's correct, and then to check the Top Directory path to each
of your other domains on their control panels. Make sure none of the
paths have spaces in the directory names, or other strange characters
(periods are okay). Also, as you're running an eval version, perhaps it
has some problems; sometimes they don't function quite like the
production versions. I can assure you that 6.04 handles the IP'd host
login page issue correctly.

Hope this helps,
Ron

It sounds like the key here is the "Top Directory" for the domain setting.
Are they unique? Another possibility might be the address translation you
are doing on the firewall. I would look at that also.

Subject: [IMail Forum] one more question
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi there,

I have multiple domains running. Lets say domain1.com and domain2.com.

If I create a user for domain1 like [EMAIL PROTECTED] and send a e-mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] from [EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED] will receive that
e-mail. After I setup a account for domain2 like [EMAIL PROTECTED] it will
separate it.

Any ideas or patches?

thanks,

Sezgin

"test" account can exist unambiguously under each domain only if you
there are distinct directories per domain so that:

\domain1\users\test

\domain2\users\test

[EMAIL PROTECTED] would anyone on the list be administering
this mail server?  It looks as though web mail is misconfigured.  If it's
