Don't feel bad, I had the exact same problem a while back with a Cisco Catalyst 5000
that our friends in the brown shipper vans *DROP* shipped, very much literally. The
impact in addition to excessive stacking weight on the box (I assume) caused a 3 inch
decrease in the box's height. The box was ripped and twisted in a very strange
fashion. Needless to say, the switch chasis was excessively warped and unusable.
I worked for another popular *PS shipping company several years ago and saw some
frightening things when I went out to the docks. I saw at least 12 personal computers
dropped from heights ranging between 2 feet and 14 feet placed back on the conveyer
belts and scanned through as if nothing happened. It is a sad, sad thing that
companies allow this to happen.
