Option 1: If you want, you can enter no IP addresses in the "Relay for
Addresses", and just have everyone use SMTP AUTH. You're just about 100%
secure (except for IP spoofing, which can be checked at the firewall, or
spam coming from your users).
Option 2: Use one of the other relay options (such as 'relay for local
hosts'), and stop a few spammers. But, the spammers that do use your system
will have YOUR address in the "From:" field, so every the clueless
recipients will know it came from your server.
Option 3: Add all the UUNet IP addresses. This is if you can find them, of
course, and if IMail can support that many IP addresses. Of course, as you
mention, anyone using UUNet would be able to send mail through your server.
Option 4: Use our Declude JunkMail Pro. The "Pro" version allows you to
scan outgoing mail, and run it against any of the spam tests (such as RBL).
This won't catch all spammers, but will give you an extra layer of
protection, and won't require users to set up SMTP AUTH.
