Hi,
We are co-locating 2 servers, both running Win2k Advanced Server.
One will be running IIS, DNS and Backup Exec software.
The other will be running SQL7 and IMail email server.
Our thoughts with regards to the setup are that the first will
have 2 NICs, one for external and one for connecting to the SQL,Email server
on a private network.
This will keep our database more secure.
Each will have their own public IP addresses.
Would you set up IMail on the web server or on the database server?
If it is on the web server can you still store all the data on the
database server?
If on the database server would users still have full access to it?
What works best overall, using the Imail Database option or using
the external database (SQL7) option?
How would you/have you set this scenario up?
Thanks
Hylton
