Mike,
Well if the error message is not in the returned message, not much that can
be done. But you are getting some information, the name of the domain that
is bouncing the message and that is a start. Maybe the header will tell us
some more (like the route it took to get back to you). So there is always
some information in a bounce message and all of it can be helpful.
I did some DNS lookup on the domain and I find that it has no MX record and
it does answer on port 25 and this is its response:
220 digifuse.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.8.8/8.8.5; Wed, 14 Feb 2001 09:45:55 -0500
Again, it is a Sendmail system, so it is likely it is doing the reverse
lookup. Checking your domain, I find it does have a PTR (but not an IMail
server on either of the MX record IPs!). So I guess you are talking about
some other domain!
Daniel Donnelly
