My bad guys, wasn't thinking. Yes, HOSTS file is used DNS.
The HOSTS file CAN be a static replacement for DNS (although, I sure
wouldn't want to do that), didn't mean that it would take its place
entirely. It should only be used when you need to resolve a very few names
that are not likely to change addresses.
Hope I didn't cause confusion.
