ArcserveIT
What version of Arcserve are you using. I have
had a problem in the past where the pre backup scan crashed while reading an
unprintable characture ' ' . The problem was that after the Scan crashed the
backup then kicked and only backed up every thing up to the crash. as the
backup was successful only a detailed look at the Logs reveiled any thing was
amis.
This bug was fixed in 5.01j and
later.
I have backup directories with 1000's of
subdirectories with later version with out any problems.
Was there any thing strange in the logs to
indicate a problem?
Les.

Subject: [IMail Forum] ArcserveIT
Ran into very strange problem with my Ipswitch
backup. I have about 750 users on Umail and backup is being done by
ArcserveIT advanced edition. I went to restore a couple of mailboxes and
then found that Arcserve only backed up about first 350 mailboxes during
full backup, entirely skipping remaining 350. It is all in alphabetical
order: my user directories are backed up from A to M, and from N to Z is
nothing. I checked previous full backups - same picture. I went one month
back when I had only 500 users and found that back up of user directories
was done from A to R and nothing below.
Does anyone know about any bug in Arcserve that
limits the number of processed subdirectories to 300-400?
thanks
