David,

I'll try to answer, look after each item in your list. From your list, I do
not see any problems consistent with incorrect configuration (except maybe
the delivery problem).

It think you also stated that you were using an external DB for user
storage. IMail Admin cannot control the number of users, nor show that
value, when using an external DB. If you wish to limit the number of users,
you would have to place that limit on the table in the DB.

Answered already. Awaiting more info from you.

That message may come regardless of the templates used. Any access to that
user account that is not terminated correctly will cause the next access to
display this message (or others, depending on what operation you are trying
to perform). IMail will timeout the improperly terminated connection, but it
may take up to an hour (or so). If you cannot wait, then you would have to
stop/start all services that access user related files (SMTP, POP3, IMAP4,
WebMSG).

> 4. Attached files are being left in the spool directory.
IMail will leave files (D and attachments to them) in \spool when it cannot
deliver or return the mesage. Fix your delivery problems and most of these
will go away. Not all, as some people may use incorect addresses for
destination and for return address. See these files a an indication of
trouble that needs to be investigated

I've seen this one too and it seemed to be introduced around V6.04. I'm
afraid I do not know the problem or the solution.

Seen this one, too. Again the send sems to work, but an unrelated error
message.

The manual and KnowledgeBase can tell you more about the files and their
contents. Generally, all these file names contain a 'date' in them, some
with year, some with only month and day. Log* and Sys* are the ones you will
need to look at for SMTP and other services. W* files actually come as W1*
and W2*, where the 1's are the log for Web Admin (8181) port and 2's are Web
MSG (8383) port.
