If you mean the situation where a mailbox file gets locked by a 
process (POPD, etc) that doesn't release unlock, then that's a bug or 
weakness in Imail.  We've all seen it happen.  I think Imail uses an 
"optimistic" locking algorithm.

I looked up "lock file" in the KB and got 215 references. The 
firstest is the mostest, imo:

The modified file name and lock file keep on living after the locking 
process be daid.

Read through the beginning of those 215 articles, I'm sure you'll 
find the solution to unlock a lock a mailbox without reboot.
