I have been having a frequent problem. When one of
my users or listserv's sends a mail to a bad or non-existent address, It often
spawns multiple SMTP.exe processes in NT which keep running till I reboot the
machine. It then starts recording all the failed attempts in my Imail log. This
has built up to 500 meg in some single days.
I have the default settings in my SMTP setup of
20 tries before sending back
&
30 in the que.
But my Imail server seems to be trying much more
than 20 times and more often than 30
Is there anyway to have IMail stop trying to send
the mail to these bad addresses?
Please cc me directly if possible.
Thanks
