Can info manager be used on a list? I see info manager tabs for users but not for lists . . . Only rules. I have a rules file (per kb article http://www.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19980116-DD08) with the following in the root of the domain:
S~RCPT:abuse
B~(name=".*\.vbs"|name=".*\.shs"|name=".*\.scr"):virus
B~(begin 6.*\.vbs|begin 6.*\.shs|begin 6.*\.scr):virus
B~KINDLY CHECK THE ATTACHED LOVELETTER:virus
I originally created abuse and virus as alias to root. However, there was a message going to the list that was a read receipt and instead of coming to my inbox, it went to a mailbox called abuse in my iMail account. Here is the header information:

With the information from your email, I added these lines:
H~Disposition-Notification-To:abuse
H~Return-Receipt-To:abuse
H~disposition-notification:abuse
I am testing these rules by posting to a list called laura with read receipts turned on and off. It is catching the mail, but only for my mailbox and not the list.
Also, since neither disposition-notification nor return-receipt appears in the headers, I don't think these rules would help. I did isolate at least one person that is requesting the read receipts. His headers do not have either of these phrases, but appears to perhaps use X-Confirm-Reading-To?

Also, not everyone's clients are replying to the list. All the ones that have been posted to the list have "X-Mailer: WebMail (Hydra) SMTP v3.61" in the header even though they are from different domains.

Thanks for the info on DSNs being a non-worry. So would you agree that
MDNs could be trapped by the Info Manager, making Laura's problem go away?
