This is a sign of a FUBAR firewall. It is blocking information required by
the RFCs, and does a poor job at it (as you can see, it allows only certain
numerals -- but not all -- to go through). They are just asking for trouble.

... and, they are using an old mail server that doesn't recognize EHLO.

That's a made-up error message that is meaningless. The "Relaying
temporarily denied" implies that they don't recognize the fricko.com domain
(an error on their end). The "Cannot resolve PTR record" implies that they
are checking your reverse DNS entry, but can't find it. SW Bell's DNS
server is failing when they try to look it up.
