A while back we did a custom piece of software that acted as a program 
alias and would accept all mail addressed to non-existant accounts, and 
would send back a "bounce" message, but would suggest likely 
alternatives.  For example, if it was addressed to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", it 
might suggest "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" (if that was a valid account).  It used the 
Soundex algorithm (which matches similar-sounding-names), and a few extra 
things such as looking for a missing "." (for 
[EMAIL PROTECTED] type addressing).
