Nice thought, but not a solution in the real world.  Most spam is generated
with forged Email headers.  The source address either doesn't exist or is
not the true source of the spam.  If it exist, it is usually just luck of
the draw.  If you pick any domain and just guess at a user name you stand a
chance of hitting a live address if you guess long enough.  The bigger the
domains Email account base the better the odds.  I have had a few customers
even ask why they could receive Email from an account that didn't exist.
The best way is to look at the actual headers and see the IP address it came
from and the path it took to reach the recipients.  You would be better
served to look at IMGate as a filter to prevent most of the spam from
reaching you.  It is free and since you said this was only for a few
personal accounts.  In the commercial market there is also Declude Junk
Mail.  If you look through the list you will see links to both of those
products.
