Our principal mail server is Imail (c 750
mailboxes) with 30 or so exchange (5.5) users (yes, just for
calendaring).
We simply forward on a per user basis i.e.
and relay all non-local mail on the exchange
server
thru the Imail server.
I can't see it making any difference if the
servers
were in different domains. Set up of the
exchange box was basic i.e. nothing odd added.
Only point of note for me was to set reply
addresses on exchange server to be like
[EMAIL PROTECTED] for 'cleanliness',
trivial in the end but not easy to see
initially.
Though your situation may be more complicated I
thought
I'd write for any others who might think adding
exchange is necesssarily a heavyweight task. It's not.
Any more complicated stuff I'd sure like to see
on-list -
sometimes it's nice just to browse without
having any particular requirement to hand.
Take it easy

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail and Exchange
Server
Hi all,
Can anyone help me out as the IPSwitch support
cannot be bothered to call me back.
We are running Imail and have a customer who
wishes to use Exchange server on his network.
He will need to send and recieve his mail via
our Imail server but I understand that Exchange uses SMTP to send and
recieve while our set up (as standard) is SMTP to send POP3 to
recieve.
What do we have to do our end to make it"
connectable" to Exchange Server or can it be done? I can't find anyr
eference on the support site.
Thank you if you can help or point me to a
decent reference.
