A couple of things to remember if doing this:

You probably will need to be able to decode the attachments, which isn't 
very easy.  Even Norton and McAfee got it wrong with some recent 
viruses.  And, you need to handle recursive attachments (ever seen a bunch 
of lines of "garbage" in web messaging?  That's an attachment that Ipswitch 
didn't recognize as an attachment; you need to be able to recognize it).

Also, you need to handle security issues (a file named "C:\config.sys", for 
example), locking files so IMail doesn't send them as you are scanning 
them, and have exception handling.

If anyone is doing this, they are welcome to use our "Test Mail Sender" at 
http://www.declude.com/tools to help make sure they are catching most of 
the common encoding types.
