This works fine under Win2K/IIS without the FP extensions enabled. If
you have FP extensions turned on for the site, there are a couple extra
steps you need to take.

First, ignore the instructions for Win2K in the KB article - it's only
useful if you happen to be using the MS DNS server (BIND is much more
reliable and easier to use). Even then, ignore it, there's an easier way
:)

Start with the NT4 instructions in the KB article. Then in the FP
extensions properties tab (or during the setup for FP extensions on that
site), make sure you enable the email component and fill in VALID values
for the 2 email address fields and the SMTP server field.

That's all I had to do to get CDONTS working with iMail on Win2K/IIS
with FP extensions installed.

If you are trying to use ASP and CDONTS on a Machine running Imail you
will
have problems with incoming ports and IIS. In order to make CDONTS work
you
have to change the incoming port of the smtp setting in the IIS to 26 or
2525 or 5025 or any unused port. Keep the outcoming port as it is "25".

I have CDONTS using IIS -of course- and Imail running just fine.

here is an explanation
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990809-DM01.htm

If you want to send the messages in que just turn off an on the smtp of
the
IIS. That's all
If you don't want to use Microsoft SMTP services, there are a lot of
components out there: OCXmail, ASPmail, Jmail.
