Make sure all the appropriate entries have been made at your ISP and
freeservers.com in YOUR DNS domain zone, they have to have the correct
records pointing to your server.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Can't send to external domains

I just purchased IMail Server 7.03 (and have applied the latest hotfix)
for
my Windows 2000 server. Since installing it, I am unable to send email
to
external domains. Tech support says that my logs show that when I send
mail, it is checking A records instead of MX records.

After a long talk with Ipswitch tech support this morning, we found that
if
I used a test DNS server from Ipswitch in my IMail
Admin SMTP settings, then I could send email just fine.

But if I used my ISPs DNS (64.224.20.132) or the one from
freeservers.com
(who has my web sites own DNS records at 208.85.127.194) in my SMTP
settings, then I can't send mail to most domains. A few, such as email
to
hp.com and earthlink.net do go through for some reason.

My ISP and freeservers.com say that their DNS servers are working
properly.

Does anyone know of a reason why this situation could happen or how to
fix
it?

I think my DNS records are set correctly.

Thanks.
