I enabled IP forwarding to get it working but apparently that only 
works for the first hop......which gets it to the second card but 
not from there to the router.

No I haven't set any routes in the box.  I have read all the 
documentation I can find on the net and there is always one or 2 
parts that I just don't get or their example setup is somehow 
different or more advanced then I need.

I wanted to make this a 2 NIC router/gateway to the internet and 
eventually install the firewall software here locally.  Right now 
I just want to get it working!
