Sorry, I did not mean to be rude really.
I only wanted to point out that this is a user forum that has been
dedicated to solving technical issues whereas it seems to me a lot of
recent posters apparently think they are posting messages to IPSWITCH.
When I first joined the forum a couple of years ago there was a lot of
good technical interchange. There were even IPSWITCH employees who
posted. There was really a lot of valuable information for which I am
very grateful. It seems to me though that the forum has changed a lot.
Now it is used so often as a place to complain about the vendor. As far
as I can tell these complaints help little but consume a lot of
bandwidth. For me they are worthless noise in an already very noisy
world.
Perhaps there should be a technical forum where people can share
experiences about technical issues. Maybe there should be another then
for psychological relief. I would enroll in the former but surely not
the latter if I were given any kind of choice in the matter.
I suppose I have grown too old and cynical for my own good but I
generally assume a software product will have no technical support at
all. I believe that I am pretty much on my own if there are problems
with any software. I have only had reasonably good outcomes a few times
in dealing with any tech support period. If a product becomes
intolerable for me I move on to an alternative. Based on my admittedly
low expectations IPSWITCH doesn't do too badly in the tech support area.
At any rate I am sorry for being rude. I know it can be frustrating
when one's expectations are unobtainable.

I agree...
I have a stable 6.06 running all my needs and customer needs...
I do not want the added ability of calendaring etc... I wanted a plain
text mail server/mail list server that runs well, can be configured the
way I want and be stable under huge loads...
IPSWITCH iMail server answers that in spades!
But... I have only owned 6.06 for 8 months and now ISWITCH has moved
forward with 7x leaving 6x in the dust with no further updates and
support??? What if a future vulnerability arises??? To bad to the
customer??? Hmmmmmm....
I do not like that at all...
May lead me to switch...
I dropped $2000+ in iMail unlimited to get 6.06 and there will be no
further updates or support? I feel a little ripped right about now?!

You could make your voice know about the situation that is what.
Many voices are heard while single ones fade with the wind.
I agree with that below.
We buy a version then as upgrades are released we are either left in the
cold or have to purchase new upgrades that we may not need or have the
money for just for the support. Its B.S.
They sure don't stop working on 1956 chevy's just cuz they stopped
building them.
Software is the biggest rip off next to the
phone companies and their monoplies.
