I would recommend "munge" (from the NT resource kit), in a batch file that
uses either "for" or "forfiles" to determine which files to edit. "for" or
"forfiles" could walk through the directory one file at a time, calling
"munge" for each file; "munge" could do the global search and replace.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Off Topic: Find and Replace Program?

Sorry for the off topic everyone!

Does anyone know of a program that will find and replace text in multiple
files within a directory that will work on an NT Server? We are being
forced to change or IP Addresses this afternoon and need to do a global find
and replace of some IP Addresses that are embedded in some ASP code.

Please reply directly to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Grant Griffith, Vice President
