Forwards and rules are in the mailbox directories(don't know about ver7 but if not this will be oversome by having a SQL database. If the mailbox directories are kept on a common store shared between the servers, they will be no data loss. In other words all you are replicating is the registry really - the actual Imail settings. If you use a shared store and Co-Standby server below, it should work. If you are really interested in all the possibilities you could try Microsft Clustering Services. Check out Magdy Ibrahim from this list. He has offered to help with that implementation, apparently he has it up and running. _______________________ Magdy H. Have you looked into Octopus? http://portal1.legato.com/products/octopus/ It will replicate your data and then do byte level transactions. Legato Octopus FAQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Q: Does Octopus replicate data? A: No. After the initial synchronization, which does copy all of the source files to the targeted server, Octopus keeps the source and target servers synchronized by replicating file operations, not data. Some examples of file operations are data write, truncate, rename, delete and permissions update. This means that if the SQL server updates a 1.5G database by writing 300 bytes at a certain offset, that 300 byte WRITE command is performed on the target just as it had been done on the source. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- http://portal1.legato.com/products/costandbyserver/ Is a Clustering solution. Not exactly sure how the mirroring is done on this one. But if a fail is done, it assumes the identity down to the IP addresses and all. How to meet requirement (d) is up to you. Sandy In our quest for the perfect IMail, Craig's got us all very excited...so we do listen to your very detailed advice Sandy, but you're not as much fun : ). Craig, keep us dreamin, but I believe folks will loose some, perhaps lots of data especially if (d) is not met, no?
