Every single time I've seen that -- being able to telnet to port 110 but 
not 25 (when port 25 was accessible from other locations), the problem was 
that the remote end was using an ISP that doesn't offer full Internet 
access (specifically, they were blocking port 25).  That would be the first 
thing to check (trying telneting to port 25 on other mail servers).

The only IMail related possibility I could think of would be the "Control 
Access File", but if that was the case, you would have had to have entered 
the IP addresses there manually (and likely would remember).
