I thought that might be the case but this is happening with several other domains as well. (and of course they all say that they have no problems with anyone but us)
How many "421 SMTP" codes is excessive ? I see hundreds in the logs going to 8-10 different domains (aol, hotmail, mediaone, ipswitch, plus 2-3 of our larger customers) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of R. The "421" code means that the server isn't accepting mail right now, but will very shortly (it's used during reboots, for example). IMail takes this as meaning what it says, and it waits and tries again later. It looks like the problem is that their mail server is stuck in that "Gee, I'm almost ready to accept mail" state. Some mail servers may try the backup MX records, which would explain why they get get some mail. It's a problem on their end that they need to fix. -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
