Bud .. Legally you can install what you want on Professional but there is a limitation in all versions of NT Workstation and Windows 2000 professional in the TCP/IP stack to a maximum of 10 similtanous connections.
As for licensing on server, you can turn off the server service and that will not require or violate any additional licensce requirements that Microsoft has on client connections. However 2000 server is the best choice, as terminal services for remote administration works great! On the down side I have neber been able to make the Imail HTML subscribe feature work with PERL ( It worked great on NT 4.0 ).
