Why not just use another syslog daemon with configurable paths and filtering? That's what I do for redundancy purposes. On Win32, Kiwi (kiwi-enterprises.com) makes a great free version, as does 3com. On *nix, use syslog (old school) or syslog-ng, the latter of which Len Conrad is now rolling out with IMGate.
