I believe it was just announced last week. >How many here are using it and what are the results? We're using it -- you can see how well it (and other tests) fare against our spamtrap at http://www.declude.com/spamtrap.htm . When I check it, it seems usually be catching about 80% of the spam. That page shows the most recent 20 spams received by some of our spamtraps, and which test(s) they failed. SPAMCOP caught 16 of them, and SNIFFER caught 17 of them. Between the two tests, they caught 19 of the 20 spams (the one they didn't catch actually appears to be a legitimate mail that was misaddressed). >We have an IMGate box in place and use the more aggressive Spamcop, but >still stuff gets by. A second line of defense would be good. That's where this works well -- since it works by scanning the message contents, rather than the IP address, it complements other spam tests quite well. Where you might have an aggressive spammer (such as the "DVD Copier") that keeps finding fresh IPs that bypass the IP-based spam tests for a while, Message Sniffer can catch it. -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
