This is normal, whenever Imail can not connect to another mail server (usually via SMTP) the mail will sit in the spool until it can either be delivered or returned to sender. Imail will try to send the mail every 30 minutes at 96 tries or whatever your settings for SMTP are. So, eventually the mail server will try to send the mail up to something like 192 hours.
