>I've had a customer ask if we support IMAPS -- IMAP using SSL. I know that >we can add a secure cert to the Web interface, but I don't recall SSL for >IMAP. This is 7.04, by the way. Is this some that is support (and I never >heard about it) or will be supported? If it isn't and won't, then why?
You can use stunnel ( http://www.stunnel.org ) to use "SSL tunnelling" that would accept SSL requests on the IMAPS port, decrypt the data, and then send it to the IMAP port, all done transparently. From the users' perspective, they would not be able to tell the difference from standard IMAPS (if IMail supported it). The same can be done for secure POP3 and SMTP. -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
