So, I was over on http://www.imap.org/ hunting for IMAPS and they don't have
anything on this.  What is it (other than the obvious -- IMAP with SSL)?  Do
some mail servers support this?

You can use stunnel ( http://www.stunnel.org ) to use "SSL tunnelling" that
would accept SSL requests on the IMAPS port, decrypt the data, and then
send it to the IMAP port, all done transparently.  From the users'
perspective, they would not be able to tell the difference from standard
IMAPS (if IMail supported it).

The same can be done for secure POP3 and SMTP.
