Up here in the North, we get semi-frequent losses of connection to the
Internet. Telus (Major backbone provider in Canada) had some planned
routing changes scheduled for Sunday early AM. They had a couple brief
outages. This morning upon my arriving at work, there are about a dozen of
our 1700 users that have reported their incoming and outgoing emails seem to
have disappeared.

I have been still receiving mine, I can send and receive to the Internet,
yet another person in our office cannot, not even to themselves on the same
box. No returned mail, the messages just seem to have disappeared, both
incoming and outgoing. I am seeing NOTIFY=FAILURE,DELAY a lot in the log
file.

Stop and start of POP and SMTP didn't resolve the problem. Complete power
off of both mail server and external Sybase SQL Anywhere database server did
resolve problem.

I'm running a Windows 2000 dual processor server, with dual redundant Intel
Server Adapters, Email 7.11 HF1.

Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

I just wish that when it was busted, it was really busted.......
