If not, just forget about it. <G> > See that is what I am trying to figure out here, I Mean I have one person that says that Charter is not allowing 3rd parties to use there port 25. I will find this out, And if there are blocking it, I will get it unblocked. That is what I do, I make things happen, and I will get that port 25 That is the good thing about being a Commercial Account. > There is *no* good reason to tell IMail that the DNS server it should use > is your static IP. However, with a cable modem, it usually does not (it > only knows the internal/private IP). See that is what I had said before, I do not know how this cable modem and the Charter gateway works, I just know that I have a Static IP and I have it assigned to my main NIC card, and it is set into the system, And when I first install IMail, it does pick up on ONLY!!!!!!!!!! The static IP Address 66.191.47.3 , not no other address > > In your case, you have an IP such as 192.168.100.2, but you're telling > IMail that you want to use 66.191.47.3. So IMail sends the packet to your > cable modem, which may not know what to do with the packet. > On my NIC Card, I have assigned the Static IP address to it, along with charters Gateway, so yes, IMail does know that is is a DNS Name, It is there, and that is the only IP Address that the server reconizes for internet programs. My Network card that is in the server, does nothing but allot me to go thru my other machines in my network. Nothing else, no browsing the internet, Just browsing other machines. Static IP is set and is being recognized as being a DNS address. > Note that 66.191.47.3 doesn't have a DNS server that is reachable on > it. So I really have to ask: Why do you think that you can enter your > static IP, and that IMail will be able to use it as a DNS server? > > How about taking the IP address of the DNS server that Charter gave you, > and entering it in the IMail SMTP "DNS server" box? Just for fun, to see > if it works? Hint, hint? Like I have replied to the last several messages. I have already done this, I have said it about 6 times already. I am using right now, the ip address of Charter in my IMail DNS. So that is done, and yes I Wayne To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
