Pierre,

I had encountered a similar problem a while back.  While I could not identify the specific cause I found that it was resolved when I changed the DNS Server used by IMail to a DNS server closer to the backbone.

Subject: [IMail Forum] send error 10053 / 10054

My server's CPU is overbusy due to POP3D and IMail is responding way too slow, in the logs I have a whole list of send error 10053 and 10054 one after the other.
My NIC is a 3Com with the good power management (as told in the KB's solution) and my server is patched to SP3.
In this forum I have seen multiple messages with solutions like changing NIC or reducing speed which I am not able to apply, so does anyone has an idea as to what is causing those errors and how to stop it.
Thanks.

Pierre Julien
