<RANT>

NOT good enough IMHO. In the last 9 months we've been down only 3.4
hours (more than half scheduled) and it could have been better. (WILL
BE). I just can't stand it when something doesn't work.

|
| 12 hours downtime in 9 months??
|
| That seems like better than 99.5 percent uptime (99.8% was my
| estimate) to me.

|
| We used Postini for about 9 months, and just cancelled about
| 3 weeks ago. The reason for our cancelling was because the
| gross failure of one of their biggest selling points (IMHO),
| which was the dictionary attack prevention.
|
| The company blocked about 30% of our mail traffic as spam
| each day, but since they didn't slow the dictionary attacks
| it didn't matter how much they stopped, the spammers were
| still harvesting our addresses for the spam (self perpetuating).
|
| The virus protection was o.k., but I got just as much out of
| Declude, with almost no administration as well.
|
| And finally, they said they maintained a 99.5 percent uptime,
| but over the last 9 months we have seen about 12 hours of
| downtime from them.
|
|
| In the end, we ditched Postini for Declude Virus (Looking to
| get Declude Spam soon), a well kept rules.ima, and some
| broad Far east blocking access lists on the router. I get
| very little spam since the change, and our maintenance is
| about 10 or 15 minutes per day dealing with Harvesters, and
| new spammers.
