Ok, I know this is an old topic but I'm still having problems.

I'm using 7.13 and have a moderator only listserve for sending announcements
to about 350 members of an organization. Each time I posted a message, two
copies would go out. From the log I could see the second message got
generate about 20 minutes after the initial message.

I worked around this problem by sending out the message then temporarily
replacing users.lst with an empty file of the same name. That way when the
server tried to send the second message, there were no subscribers. Someone
in this group responded that it's likely caused by an invalid email address
and suggested I check the message header of the second email to find the
culprit. I did that, found the problem and removed the bad address from the
list. Problem over, I thought...

This morning I get a copy of an update email I sent out the first week in
October! I checked the log and found this entry:

11:20 08:38 3112 LST updates message from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I checked the message header and the email address was the same bad address
I removed earlier.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening again? I have 350 people today
wondering why I sent them an email dated October 7th. What's to prevent
another "bad" address from getting in the list and causing this loop all
over again? I don't know what else to do other than resort to my original
work-around.

Thanks!
Gary
