As such, we use the ODBC connectors via IMail as a base for our user base 
that we can query and add informtion to.



If we were to convert this user base (3000 plus accounts) to the Registry 
for faster performance


first, do you have a performance problem worth chasing?




is there still a way to allow web-based subscription access.




sure. your subscription app has to be modified to write the database to a 
different location.




And could we query the list for other information?




ODBC allows you to store anything in the user table. The registry fields 
are limited to what Imail defines.
