You  can  store  anything  else  in the Reg keys as well. Just as with
ODBC:  IMail will not use the extra data, but an outside app certainly
can, and it can be stored in the same place.

Not  that  the  Registry  is the best place from which to run reports,
since  it has no built-in query language. If you're making SQL queries
now that can't be run on the Registry, you'll know pretty quickly when
you try to convert 'em.
