Sorry, didn't explain that very well.

Our client sends a large message to a user at msn and/or hotmail. Or
a message is sent to our client who has a mail forwarding to a
msn/hotmail account.

What I "think" happens is that MSN/HOTMAIL drops the connection before
the file is completely transferred if the recipient's mailbox size
goes over limit during the transfer.

I only see this when the file is pretty large and takes a while to
transfer.

When the files are smaller, or the mailbox is over limit to begin
with, (and I don't know how to tell), then MSN/HOTMAIL rejects as it
should with a nice error.

But again, I'm speculating, and only because I've seen this behavior
from MSN/HOTMAIL enough times with large messages to make me wonder
why.

At first I thought maybe they just had a size limit but now I think
there is more to it.

I may be totally wrong - just a working hypothesis.

Terry
