This is probably just a feature.

We have been running a mailing list with a limited number of subscribers for about two years. Since the beginning one of the "features" seems to be that a new mailbox is created each day with the messages for the day and thrown into the account of the list administrator. The format of the mailbox is {listname}ddmm. There is a companion file with a uid extension.

I am guessing that this is an artifact of the digest mode. Has to store it somewhere, right? Can anyone confirm this?

Why is this not just a file somewhere in the iMail directory that gets deleted each day?

If this IS the digest file disguised as a mailbox, why isn't it deleted after being sent?

We have no subscribers to the digest mode. You would think the software might be trained to look at this aspect and not build the digest file (again, if that is what this is) unless there are digest subscribers. Of course if someone subscribed mid-day they would miss the earlier messages (if any) if a indicator were employed to denote whether the digest file needs to be accumulated.

Is there any way to automatically delete these useless files?
