... on a peronalit, check "authentication allowed".



in eudora.ini, paste this is in:



[Debug]

LogLevel=96

LogFileSize=1000000



and stop/start eudora, then try it.  It works, has for years.



This level of eudora logging will also show you byte-level output from 
IMail, to verify that it's announcing ESTMP support and 250-AUTH facility.
