Hi all..

We currently have a imail 7.13 installed on a server running NT4/sp6.

We have 254 IP addresses bound to the NIC and host 230 separate domains
in imail. (each domain is assigned a separate static IP)

We are also utilizing SMTP Auth and are using the Imail internal (registry
based)
user database.

-----------------------
Here's the dilemna.

We need to move the Imail installation to a completely new machine AND have
to change all IP's.

- I bound all of the NEW IP addresses to the NIC on the NEW server. (all
public IP's -- we are not doing NAT)

- I installed imail 7.13 and hotfix 2 on the NEW server. (Dell Poweredge
4400 / Windows 2000 Server)

- I made a backup of the registry on the "old" server using the imail
"backup" feature.

- I then shut down all imail related services and copied the entire
directory structure over to the D:\Imail directory on
the new server. (it resided on d:\imail on the old server as well)

- I then restored the "registry backup" on the NEW machine.

- I then edited the registry and changed all instances of the "old" IP
addresses to the "new" IP addresses.
(in both places for each IP)

- I then started up all IMail services on the new server.

- Everything seems to work ok, EXCEPT ----> the existing (about 1500)
users can NOT retrieve mail !
(their password gets rejected). It is not isolated to one domain, it is
happening on ALL of the domains with ALL
user accounts.

- I entered a new "test" account on a few of the domains. These "new"
accounts WORK perfectly!

- Using the HKSI WebMail Templates, I can log in to ANY of the accounts
provided that I enter the FULL e-mail
address as the user. (we did NOT have to do this in the "old" installation,
just the user name was ok -- we are not running
virtual mail hosts -- each is bound to a publically addressable IP)

We had to dump this and revert back to the initial server !! (we can only
keep this up for another few days -- our
service provider will be shutting down the T1 servicing this and we need to
move everything to the new T1/new IP's ASAP!)

Does anyone have any suggestions for us?

Thanks !!!!!
