And from what I hear your saying, 6.06 automatically, when sending mail, checks the A record of the recipient instead of the MX record, even if there aren't any errors on the recipient's end? What kind of mail server does that?

No version of IMail will go to the A record instead of the MX record if there aren't any errors (as far as I have seen).


The problem as I understood it was that some versions would go to the A record if an MX record existed, but the servers in the MX record were not reachable. This sounds OK logically, but from an RFC perspective is not the correct behavior (and has since been fixed).
