IMO, to avoid any possible issues, it is best to have the FQDN of the computer equal the official Host name. Example. there is a company that uses Imail. The official Host name is different entirely from the FQDN of the server. It causes DNS and other problems which you can come up with work arounds, but they can not come up with the proper work arounds because someone else is responsible for DNS and they think they know everything. I hope the person from the company I am talking about does not take this the wrong way as no offence is intended at him directly.
