Subject: [IMail Forum] New CSR pain

This is just a general complaint concerning the situation I now find myself
in when needing to generate a new CSR file to be sent to Verisign or (any
other TCA). If I am mistaken in whats written below please let me know.

My existing Verisign .CRT expires in ten days. Thus, I need to generate a
new CSR to send to them. However, the Imail CSR creation process overwrites
the existing CRT file actually the point isnt that it overwrites the file
in that you could always just name it something other than the existing
.CRT, its just that the whole CSR creation process creates a new Imail .CRT
that the software must now point to.

As such, your existing TCA signed cert is no longer valid and, while you are
waiting to hear back from Verisign, every one of your users that hits you
SSL webmail log in page gets a warning that the cert being served is not
from a trusted authority.

When I confirmed this with Ipswitch tech support and mentioned that that was
terribly inconvenient for me the response was, I guess so.

Well, you guessed right and your opinion was useless and void of any concern
for the paying customers that us your product! When I have 3,000 paranoid
users each call me when they get this cert warning that just sucks and I
shouldnt have to have to deal with it.

Im now setting up options in my voicemail tree. One will be something like
press 3 if you are suddenly receiving a trusted authority warning in
webmail and Im gonna forward it right to 706-312-3500 (Ipswitch).

When Ipswitch calls me to say that my users phone calls are really
disrupting their normal operations and inconvenient, my response will be I
guess so.
