I am just starting to try Nagios out, and although I like the price too, saying the configuration isn't easy is a bit of an understatement. What is it, about 14 configuration files for the server itself? But all in all, the documentation is straightforward and fairly clear, and the sample configuration files are enough to get you started.
I haven't had a chance to really get into the plugin coding but that looks promising if you have anything out of the ordinary you want monitored. Anybody using it? I'll throw in a vote for Nagios. http://www.nagios.org/ Not the easiest to configure by any stretch of the imagination. But it works very well, and the price is right :-) dhardison -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kami Razvan Sent: Monday, March 31, 2003 9:50 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMail Forum] Servers Alive? Anybody using it? Hi; We are evaluating a couple of products that are inline with WhatsUpGold - I know this is not that list but I thought this list could be of help ... Is anyone using this product for IMail? http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/ It appears to be quite inexpensive and quite feature rich. Regards, Kami --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
